Family-Owned Trucking Since 1976

Hartford, Wisconsin roots. Midwest lanes. Drivers and customers treated like family.

Our Story

Started with one truck in Hartford.

Laufer Trucking began in late 1976 when Al Laufer bought his first truck. He had been driving for someone else for years, then decided to give it a try on his own. Once the first rig was paid off, he picked up a second truck in 1983 and hired Robert Beine as his first employee. Robert is still with us today.

After renting on Union Street in Hartford for years, Al and his wife Carolyn bought land in the Western Industrial Park and built the Western Drive terminal in 1996 — maintenance bay, wash bay, docks, and warehouse space, all under one roof.

In 2006 they purchased the former Midas Corporation building and turned it into Wacker Drive Logistics & Warehouse. In 2010 their daughter Krista joined the business and now leads day-to-day operations as President.

We invest in late-model equipment, carry a high cargo insurance limit, and try to do what we say we’re going to do. That’s it. That’s the strategy.

Hartford Roots

Local, because we’re local.

Hartford is home. Our trucks pull the City Band float through the parade every year — a tradition that spans decades. Every December one of our rigs gets wrapped in Christmas lights and hits the road for the holiday convoy. You’ll see our logos on the local baseball park boards and a long list of community causes around town.

“We do what we say we’re going to do.”
